I was just offered a Caldari Navy Issue Caracal BPC from my agent.
Cost: 50,000 LP (which I have) and 200,000,000 isk. (which I don't have)
Two hundred million isk? For a BPC?
From Tuesday's patch notes:
"The faction ships for ISK offers aren't as ridiculously expensive anymore. - This was already in build 3796"
If 200m isk and 50k LP isn't considered to be "ridiculously expensive", then may I ask what they were BEFORE patch 3796? Because, imho, this seems excessive.
Any input welcome.

I see CN Caracal on escrows between 200M to 300M all the time. A bit pricey your offer is.
Yes, I know. I checked escrow myself. No N.I. Caracals for sale; but there is a fully-built N.I. Raven for sale.
For 1.5b isk.
1.5b may sound high, but compare the cost of the fully-built Navy Raven to the cost of the Caracal BPC, and you'll see that the Raven is being sold by a player for only 7.5x the cost of the BPC I'm being offered.
Something is amiss, methinks... but only a dev can confirm it.
Again... if anyone else out there has received an offer for this BPC from their agent, please spell out the details of your offer here.
Thanks in advance.

Does anybody else have any input on this? I'd really like to know if the 200million asking price for the BPC is the "patched" price, or if there is still a problem with these types of offers.
Thanks in advance.

Originally by: Joshua Foiritain Its not broken, it used to cost A LOT more. If you want a cheaper offer get 150k lps, youll get an offer for Dog Tags + Lps.
The 50k offer is low LP + High cash offers for people whove got to much money and dont like doing missions.
Joshua: may I ask what "A LOT more" is/was? That way I can compare the pre-patch and post-patch prices.
Thanks.

Originally by: Joshua Foiritain Cant say for sure but afaik it was something like 500 mill. I know frigates used to cost 90 mill isk, which was dropped to 50 mill apparently so dropping from 500-600 mill to 250 sounds right.
Plus 250 for a BPC is a pretty good deal
hmmmm... 250m (actually 200m isk plus 50k LP) doesn't seem like a pretty good deal to me.
Based on typical single-run BPC pricing, which is ~10% of the build-cost of most items, that would mean that a fully-built Navy Issue Caracal would be selling on escrow for ~2 billion isk.
Since there's a fully-built Navy Issue Raven being sold on escrow for 1.5 billion isk, something smells rotten in Reykjavik.
Keep in mind that we're talking about a Cruiser here. The Raven is a Battleship. I find it hard to believe that a fully-built Faction Cruiser is going to sell for 500 million isk MORE than a fully-built Faction Battleship.
Unless, of course, the seller of the Raven is having a bad day, and decided to get rid of it at cost or something.

This is completly insane price, a fleet stabber only marginally better then a Rupture, but costs (inlcuding LP cost and resources) 40-50x time more.
Only stupid or collector will accept this kind of an offer.
Like I said, something smells funny about this whole thing.
Anyway, I told my agent to stuff her offer. It's a shame, because the main reason I've been doing missions was to earn a faction ship.
Makes me regret turning down the offer for 4 +2 perception implants for 36k LP.
Ah well... I'm sure this is bugged, because if it's the way it's supposed to be, then (as you say) only an idiot or a very wealthy collector would even bother. At that price, you'd be a fool to try and use that ship in combat.
